All processing happens locally in your browser. The job posting and resume text you paste are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any ResumeChkr server, and no analytics on this site ever sees the content of your resume or job posting. Closing or reloading this page clears the text in the boxes above. The one thing that does persist is your scan history — the posting's title line, the date, and your score, saved to this browser's local storage so you can track what you've checked and applied to; it stays on this device and is never transmitted anywhere, and you can clear it anytime from the "Your scan history" section. We do use Google Analytics to see aggregate traffic (pages visited, general location, device type) — it sets standard analytics cookies and works the same way it does on most websites, but it never receives the text you paste into the boxes above or your scan history, and it only runs if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner (or the "Cookie Settings" button in the corner) — reject it and no analytics cookies are set. The one exception to the "nothing leaves your device" rule for free/local-mode use is the optional "Use your own AI" section: if you choose to copy the generated prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or another AI, that text goes to whichever service you pasted it into, subject to that service's own privacy policy — that's a step you take yourself, not something ResumeChkr sends on your behalf. Running a scan requires a free account (just an email and password, handled by Supabase — see below), but creating one costs nothing and doesn't require a payment method. Your match score itself is a Premium feature; free accounts still get formatting checks, the ATS parsing simulation, and keyword lists, all computed locally.
If you choose to create a Premium account, that's opt-in and separate from everything above. Signing up requires an email and password, handled by our authentication provider, Supabase. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe's own hosted checkout and billing pages — ResumeChkr's servers never see or store your card number. Premium's server-side "Score with AI" and cover-letter features send the job posting and resume text you're actively scoring to our AI-scoring function (which calls Anthropic's Claude API) only at the moment you click that button — this is the one feature where resume/job-posting text leaves your browser to a server we control, and it only happens for Premium users who choose to use it; the free local scan and the free "bring your own AI" copy/paste flow are both unaffected and still send nothing to us. Premium also stores scan-history metadata (title, date, score, applied status — never the full resume or posting text) in our database so it syncs across your devices. Supabase and Stripe act as subprocessors for account and payment data respectively; see their own privacy policies for how they handle it. You can cancel a Premium subscription and delete your account at any time from the billing portal.
By using ResumeChkr you agree to these terms. ResumeChkr's free local scan is a tool meant to help you understand and improve how your resume reads to keyword-based applicant tracking systems. It does not guarantee an interview, a job offer, or any other hiring outcome. Hiring decisions are made solely by the employer — ResumeChkr has no relationship with, and no control or influence over, the hiring process at any company. You're responsible for the accuracy of anything you submit to an employer, including any text you edit after using this tool; ResumeChkr does not review, verify, or vouch for your resume's content. Use these results as one input among many when preparing your application, not as a promise of results. Don't use ResumeChkr to process resumes or personal data belonging to someone else without their permission.
Premium is a paid subscription ($7.99/month at time of writing) with a 7-day free trial. A payment method is required to start the trial, and it will automatically convert to a paid subscription and be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel before then. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled. You can cancel anytime, self-serve, from the billing portal (accessible via the "Account" button once logged in) — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Premium access until then. We don't offer partial-period refunds for unused time in a billing period. Premium features (server-side AI scoring, cross-device scan history, unlimited batch scanning, and PDF export) may change over time; we'll make reasonable efforts to note material changes here.
ResumeChkr is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of results. The formatting checks and keyword-overlap score are heuristics, not a simulation of any specific employer's actual ATS software. Results from the free "bring your own AI" bridge come from whichever third-party AI service you choose, and results from Premium's server-side AI scoring come from the AI model we call on your behalf — in both cases, ResumeChkr does not guarantee, review, or vouch for that output; treat it as one more opinion, not a verdict. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ResumeChkr and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including a missed job opportunity — arising from your use of this tool, free or paid.
These terms may be updated from time to time as the tool changes; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
